As a dad of three, planning a Disney vacation is all about creating magic — without breaking the bank. Over the years, we’ve stayed at incredible Disney Deluxe resorts without paying Deluxe prices — thanks to David’s Vacation Club Rentals. Here’s how we do it (and how you can too). In this blog post, I’ll share our experience and how it all works, the amazing resorts we’ve stayed at, and why we continue to book with them trip after trip.
What Is David’s DVC Rental?
David’s Vacation Club Rentals connects guests with Disney Vacation Club members who aren’t using their points. You rent those points to book a stay at a Disney Deluxe Villa Resort — the same properties Disney sells at a premium — for significantly less.
We’ve saved up to 50% compared to Disney’s standard rates, all while enjoying top-tier accommodations and amenities. The process is straightforward, and the customer service team at David’s goes above and beyond to answer questions, confirm bookings, and guide you through the rental experience.

Our Experience Renting DVC Points Through David’s
We’ve used David’s Vacation Club Rentals multiple times, and it has become our go-to method for staying in Deluxe Disney resorts at a fraction of the cost. Our first booking was back in 2019 for a November 2020 trip, where we reserved stays at both the Boardwalk Villas and the Polynesian Villas. Despite the uncertainties brought on by COVID-19, we were still able to go on our trip as the Disney World parks and resorts had reopened. At the Polynesian Villas, we loved watching the fireworks from the beach while our kids played in the sand — an unforgettable memory we didn’t have to pay full price for. While it wasn’t the trip we had initially planned, we still had an amazing time.
In January 2023, we wanted to visit Disneyland in California and secured a reservation at the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. We loved the resort and its close proximity to the parks. Staying so close to the parks made it very convenient to run back to the room quick to grab extra snacks and to have our youngest take a nap.
We then booked for January 2024 at the Polynesian Villas again (it is one of our favorites!), prior to our first cruise on the Disney Wish. Most recently we booked a split stay in January 2025 at Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian Villas, before and after our Disney Treasure cruise.

Things to Know:
- Booking Can Take Time
- Different factors that can affect how long it takes to secure your reservation depend on the resort you are trying to request and the time of year you are going.
- Some Resorts Are More Competitive Than Others
- Deluxe Studios at the Boardwalk Villas and Beach Club Villas are lower in point values than some of the other resorts and can book up fast
- We have found it easier to book the Polynesian Villas and Wilderness Lodge Boulder Ridge Villas when looking for a Deluxe Studio between 8-11 months out
- Split Stays Can Be a Smart Strategy
- Split stays (staying at 2 or more resorts) may work best for a longer vacation (1 week or longer).
- David’s Vacation Club Rentals can work with you to make booking separate resort stays contingent upon securing them both (you are only responsible for the reservations if they can book both stays for you)
- Minimum Points To Book
- There is a minimum of 44 points per booking
- Depending on the time of year this could be at least ~1-3 nights
- Cancellation Policy Basics
- Their cancellation policy, which if used, will give you a percentage of your reservation price back as a travel credit
Overall, renting DVC points through David’s Vacation Club Rentals has allowed us to enjoy deluxe accommodations at a much lower cost than booking directly through Disney. The process may require some planning and patience, but the savings and experiences have been well worth it.
